CONTACT is interested in programming explosive theatre that primarily resonates with young people between the ages of 13-30 from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Contact is a creative resource for artists so we are particularly interested in new work that pushes the boundaries of form and content.
Contact is interested in all forms of live performance including dance, theatre, spoken word, live art and music. We programme local, national and international work.
Contact brings together an unexpected mix of ideas, young people, artists, cultures, andexperiences, to create exciting new theatre reflecting and helping to shape theworld around us.
Contact includes three theatre spaces – Space 1, a 300 seat end-on theatre; Space 2, a 70 seat flexible studio, and Space 3, a rehearsal, workshop and performance space. The building hosts new gallery exhibitions every few months and performances also take place on stage in the main foyer area and within the theatre’s café bar, Contact Lounge.
Contact also provides professional development opportunities for artists and is interested in working with artists and companies with exciting new ideas for theatre through spoken word, audio visuals, music, media, movement, live art, poetry, rap,installations and more.
