  International Women's Day RAW Jam
Caro Snatch (Rare as a Green Bitch) presents a special project to commemorate
90 years since some women were allowed to vote and 80 years that they were given the right to vote on the same terms as men in the UK.

Do you vote or think it is important to vote?

Do you feel your voice counts?

What does voting really mean to you?

Here is an opportunity to air your voice, make a wish, say what you would vote for or who you would vote for.

The VOODOO You Do - Valentine's RAW Jam

Where would you stick the pin if you happened to have a voodoo doll of your ex-lover? What did he or she do to deserve it?

what kind of spell would you cast on your current (or ex) lover to make him or her do your bidding or fulfil your ever desire?

What would you call your spell? what ritual would you have to perform to make it happen?

What's your story? What's your music?
Akiel's project is about music as a form and element of story-telling.

You are invited to tell us a story, a moment, an experience in your life and the piece of music that reminds you of it, or has important meaning to you because of this.

Female Warriors
Has life presented you with challenges that you didn't know you could over come, but did? Are you stepping over challenges at the present?
Would you identify with the term Female Warrior? Or would you like to identify with it? How do you perceive yourself? How does that term make you feel? Come discuss with me.

At Home Artists In Residence 2007
The Contact At Home scheme creates opportunities for emerging artists and companies from a wide range of backgrounds (theatre companies, live artists, musicians, dancers, choreographers, poets, puppeteers, visual artists, writers, multi-media or new media practitioners, etc) to develop creative ideas at Contact. Over a period of six months artists receive financial, artistic and organisational support. There is an emphasis on engaging with the ethos and environment at Contact, trying out new ideas, being challenged and taking risks. It is expected that resident artists will have a large input into the creative exchanges within the building, through working with young people, sharing their processes, engaging in discussion and inspiring each other. At the end of the residency all artists will have a ‘work in progress’ show at Contact to an open audience, which will enable them to receive feedback and develop the project further.

  Afroreggae
Afroreggae returned to Contact between Friday 18-Sun 20 May to share their expertise from working in the favelas in Rio around working with young people in conflict areas. This process with a group of Manchester practitioners looked at developing long term ideas about how to work together to use culture as a way to help young people free themselves from gangs and crime.
For those involved, keep in touch here with all of the weekend workshop participants, and add any comments about how you found the weekend overall.
