In partnership with Contact Theatre, BBC writersroom have commissioned five World Wide writers and five film artists to make five short films. Their brief was to generate debate by producing thought-provoking 2 minute films on the theme of "Freedom".
The 5 films and partnerships are:
'Take It Slow' 
Avril Jacobs (AV artist/short-film maker) with Avaes Mohammad (Writer/bio-chemist/rapper)
'Innocent Freedom' 
Jaheda Choudry from Manchester (director & filmmaker) with Thambani Zimba from Zambia (Writer/poet/social worker)
'Ama-gi'
Ammar Malas from Syria living in Saudia Arabia (writer) with Lorna Giezot from London and Manchester ( AV) 
'Geordie Jihad'
Saad Haroon from Pakistan ( writer/stand up comic/ his previous R3 commission Bora Bistrah) with Colin Simpson from Durham ( AV )
'Freedom'
Samira Arhin-Arquaah from Manchester ( writer/MC) with Kaustubh Bankapore from Pune, India ( filmmaker/theatre practitioner arts & events).
