To celebrate the first anniversary of Contact’s free ticket scheme FREEact, Tachia Newall (BBC’s WaterlooRoad) and MC Hobbit will be appearing at a special lunchtime Raw Jam on Thursday 18th February to preview their upcoming show, Ghost Boy.
Launched in February 2009 as part of Arts Council England’s A Night Less Ordinary scheme, FREEact offers free tickets to people under 26 for events ranging from theatre and dance to music and spoken word. Since the start of the scheme hundreds of young people have benefited by seeing Contact shows for free.
Fusing grime, dubstep, ska, puppetry, hip-hop theatre, street art and dance Ghost Boy is the latest production from 20 Stories High. Set on a fictional estate Ghost Boy tackles the themes of love, redemption and knife crime.Ghost Boy appears at Contact from March 3 to 13.
