Project Phakama is committed to the practice of cultural exchange and the celebration of a shared experience by promoting a participant led and non hierarchical artistic philosophy.
Through a process it calls give and gain the learning process becomes two ways: everybody has something they can give to the project and everybody has something they can gain, whether this is skills, ideas, knowledge or information.
Project Phkama UK based in London has been created by a core team of emerging artists consisting of young refugees and asylum seekers from Albania, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Liberia and Kenya.
