CAT Youth Theatre creates original, devised productions from the ideas of the young people who are its members.
Many youth theatres in the US describe themselves as pre-professional actor training for young people. That is not the main focus of the CAT Youth Theatre. CAT are primarily concerned with the art of making theatre, and consciously consider the form and content of each piece. Of overwhelming importance to members of the group is creative freedom, ownership of the work and a sense that their voice matters.
