AIR: The National Express

The National Express will document the journeys of four individuals who will each take a trip on a National Express
coach.Their mission will be to document their journeys and to see if pop band the divine comedy are correct in that if you ‘take the National express when your life is in a mess it will make you smile’.
The work will draw on these findings to create a live theatre piece which examines ‘all human life’, how we place ourselves in relation to it and what factors influence our conclusions. The National Express is an exploration into the journeys that change us both physically and emotionally. Stephanie is a writer and performer whose work has toured both regionally and nationally. She has collaborated on projects which have received two greenroom method lab commissions, appeared at Blue3 and 4 at the Royal Exchange and received Arts Council funding. Stephanie works across a range of disciplines and her latest work me, mum and dusty springfield premiered at blue6 at the royal exchange and after a period or development will be touring Autumn 2009.
