What's in the Cat

Image for What's in the Cat
Written by Manchester writer, Linda Brogan, What’s in the Cat premiered at Contact in December 2005 before touring to London’s Royal Court.

What’s in The Cat, is set in Manchester’s Moss Side and tells the story of a family Christmas in 1974; pregnant 15-year-old Lauren returns home for the first time after being thrown out by her dad, mum (Margaret) and dad (Bogey) are at each others throats, and this looks like the very last family Christmas. This unflinching, dark portrayal of volatile home life shows the influential power of family and how history often repeats itself.
