At Home
Marking the latest year of At Home residencies at Contact, we are delighted to present three emerging artists who collectively span visual, spoken & performance art cultures. Following six months of development time, throughout June, Contact presents the resulting “ideas in progress”. Taking shape in a variety of spaces and places around the building – from intimate moments to collective reflections in wild forests - At Home has something to whet everyone’s artistic palate.

What does it mean when someone important to you only exists in your memories? How do you grieve in the midst of comforting the ones you love? And is holding on to your grief a way of keeping a departed loved one close? One aspect of this installation will be a ‘forest’ consisting of thousands of sympathy cards, exploring the quiet, beautiful and sometimes daunting scope of sympathy offered around the death of a loved one.
