Welcome to the Dread Kingdom…
We are in the year 3007, a post apocalyptic world. A select group of people live in peace and tranquility in the high hills of the Dread Kingdom. Meet our protagonist - Young Natty. A restless and unruly youth, determined to disturb the peace... a rebel without a cause. Determined to teach him the lessons of the past the Dreadlord sends Natty back in time to discover his roots and learn about the true value of peace in our (future) time.
We visit the soils of the SouthAmericas during slavery, the waters of Windrush, the inner cities of 21st Century under attack under fire. We explore these stories through the poetry, songs, music and dance styles of these periods.
Space Dread is a Contact supported script in development, featuring Wylie Longmore as the Dreadlord and Cleveland Campbell as Young Natty. This specially staged preview of the full-length script will give you a taster of the show that is to come in 2011.
The performance will be followed by a post show chat back and after-show celebration party. Join Shameless star Marcus Hercules and some of Manchester's finest musicians for an after- show extravaganza, from spoken word to sweet vocals…
